DOXA’s bold editions, built for collectors

If the core collection is the backbone of any watch brand, then limited editions are its creative soul. Nowhere is that more evident than in the retailer-exclusive editions that DOXA has unveiled this year.

Bold, colorful, and often surprising takes on the classic SUB formula, these iconic collectibles are created in partnership with some of the brand’s most engaged retail partners.

For collectors, these watches offer something a little off-piste; watches that are scarce, tell a story and offer a genuine sense of discovery. And with their unusual dial colors, special case backs, and small production numbers, they speak directly to a growing appetite for individuality in the modern watch world.

While brand-owned limited editions tend to celebrate anniversaries or historic models, these off-catalogue projects give DOXA the freedom to explore more playful themes, more daring colorways, and deeper partnerships. Each one is a dialogue between brand and retailer, and in turn, a conversation starter on the wrist.

From sand to sea: the SUB 200 Dune x Art of Time

Few collaborations showcase this creative chemistry as clearly as DOXA’s ongoing relationship with Art of Time, a long-standing partner based in St. Maarten. Their latest collaboration, the SUB 200 Dune, is a 100-piece limited edition inspired by the meeting of golden Caribbean sands and shimmering blue waters.

At first glance, it’s the dial that grabs attention. A warm taupe, almost bronze-toned hue with a subtle sand-grain texture evokes windblown beaches at golden hour. Framed by the familiar 42mm SUB 200 steel case, it’s a color rarely seen in the DOXA lineup and one that immediately sets this piece apart.

Flip it over and you’ll find a laser-engraved Caribbean map on the solid case back, but with a striking twist: the sea has been finished in a deep oceanic blue, achieved through a process of laser etching and physical vapor deposition. The contrast with the sandy dial above is clever and evocative and a visual metaphor for land meeting sea.

Each watch comes with both a stainless steel beads-of-rice bracelet and a black rubber strap and is packaged in a special presentation box. With just 100 numbered pieces, it’s already catching the attention of collectors well beyond the Caribbean.

Light and luminous: the SUB 300 Carbon Seafoam x Watches of Switzerland

Next comes a watch that quite literally lightens the load; the SUB 300 Carbon Seafoam, made in collaboration with The Watches of Switzerland Group and limited to just 100 numbered examples.

This edition brings together high-performance carbon construction with a soft pastel sunray Seafoam green dial, a rare mix of cutting-edge and whimsical. It’s a dial tone never before seen in the DOXA range, made exclusively for Watches of Switzerland.

That contrast is what makes the Seafoam so appealing. The forged carbon case and titanium inner chamber offer serious dive-watch kudos (300m of water resistance, COSC-certified automatic movement, domed sapphire crystal), but the breezy mint-green dial and matching NATO strap soften the overall look. It’s a diver with real personality, equally at home under a wetsuit or peeking out from a rolled linen cuff.

The case back is engraved with the Watches of Switzerland logo and individual edition number, adding yet another collector-driven detail to the mix. Lightweight, wearable, and full of charm, this edition is a lesson in how off-catalogue models can surprise and delight.

Bright and bold: the SUB 250T Afterglow and Gulfshore x Exquisite Timepieces

Few retailers lean into DOXA’s colorful spirit quite like Exquisite Timepieces, the Florida-based specialist with a keen eye for vibrant design. Their latest two exclusives, the SUB 250T GMT Afterglow and SUB 250T GMT Gulfshore, push the envelope in opposite but equally compelling directions.

Let’s start with the Afterglow. With its vibrant pink dial and sunray finish, this 50-piece limited edition defies dive-watch convention while staying true to DOXA’s playful palette. The pink tone, paired with orange accents on the bezel, makes for a striking aesthetic that feels both fresh and nostalgic. The stainless steel case measures 40mm, with a unidirectional bezel and screw-down crown delivering 250m water resistance. It’s a watch made to perform but styled to turn heads from coastlines to city streets.

Then there’s the Gulfshore, another 50-piece edition that also houses a long-missed feature, the GMT complication. First seen in the original SUB 750T GMT models of the early 2000s, this world-traveling function returns here in a slimmer, more wearable case. The rich blue dial stands out beautifully, complemented by bold white and orange markers and a matching orange hour hand. It’s rugged, refined, and unmistakably DOXA, a bridge between classic dive functionality and modern globetrotting utility.

East meets west: the SUB 250 x Ahmed Seddiqi

Finally, there’s the most quietly radical piece of all, the SUB 250 Ahmed Seddiqi, created to mark the 75th anniversary of the legendary Dubai-based retailer. At just 75 numbered pieces, it’s one of the most exclusive current retailer editions and perhaps the one with the richest design language.

The cherry red sunray dial is a nod to Dubai’s vibrant energy, contrasted with sand-gold-colored indexes and hands that reference the desert landscape. But look closer and the cultural nuance deepens as the date wheel features Eastern Arabic numerals, a first for DOXA, and the bezel markings are also rendered in Arabic script. Subtle? Yes. Significant? Absolutely!

Cased in the cushion-shaped SUB 250 platform with 250m water resistance and paired with either a beads-of-rice bracelet or rubber strap, this edition also bears the Seddiqi family motto, “Where Legacy Meets Luxury”, engraved on the case back.

It’s a true fusion of heritage and modernity, East and West, and a testament to the shared values between DOXA and its oldest partners. For collectors with an eye for detail and culture, it’s an instant standout.

Creative freedom, collector focus

As these editions show, the best retailer collaborations go beyond a dial color swap or a limited-edition engraving. They reflect the shared passions of brand and partner, giving birth to watches that tell real stories, of place, of purpose, of perspective.

For DOXA, these projects are a way to stretch the brand’s visual identity without compromising on substance. They remain true tool watches that are tough, legible, dependable, whilst also offering an interesting canvas for creativity.

For collectors, they offer something rarer still, an invitation into the story behind the watch. Whether it’s a sea-sand tribute to the Caribbean, a minty-fresh take on modern diving, or a cross-cultural celebration in steel and sapphire, these are watches designed to spark emotion, conversation, and connection.

They’re off-catalogue, but absolutely on point.
